As an open access journal, Journal of Educational Research in Mathematics will follow the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (https://doaj.org/bestpractice) developed by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) the American Psychology Association(APA)’s ethical principles of psychologists and code of conduct (https://www.apa.org/ethics/code).

All papers, including those invited by the Editor, are subject to peer review. A manuscript is first reviewed for its format and adherence to the aims and scope of the journal. If the manuscript does not fit the aims and scope of the Journal or does not adhere to the Instructions for Authors, it may be returned to the author immediately after receipt and without a review. Before reviewing, all submitted manuscripts are inspected by Similarity Check powered by iThenticate (https://www.crossref.org/services/similarity-check/), a plagiarism-screening tool.
The journal uses a double-blind peer-review process: the reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and vice versa. Manuscripts are reviewed by at least 3 external experts and editors. JERM’s average turnaround time from submission to decision is 2 weeks. The editor is responsible for the final decision whether the manuscript is accepted or rejected.

Copyright to all published materials in JERM is owned by the Korean Society of Educational Studies in Mathematics(KSESM) All authors should agree to the copyright transfer during the submission process. JERM is an open access journal. Articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. To use the tables or figures of JERM in other journals, books or media for scholarly, educational purposes, the process of permission request to the publisher of JERM is not necessary. All contents of the journal are available immediately upon publication without embargo period.
JERM uses the Open Access publishing model in which all published articles are freely available to readers directly from the Journal's website. However, all manuscripts accepted to be published in JERM should make a full payment of the article processing fee as well as the annual membership fee for KSESM.
The editorial board of JERM have carefully examined all submitted manuscripts whether these are abided by the ethical guidelines of the ICMJE and COPE. The published articles have involved the statements of conflict of interest, institutional review board, informed consent, and human/animal rights.
When the Journal faces suspected cases of research and publication misconduct such as a redundant (duplicate) publication, plagiarism, fabricated data, changes in authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, an ethical problem discovered with the submitted manuscript, a reviewer who has appropriated an author’s idea or data, complaints against editors, and other issues, the resolving process will follow the flowchart provided by the COPE (http://publicationethics.org/resources/flowcharts). The editorial board of JERM will discuss the suspected cases and reach a decision. JERM will not hesitate to publish errata, corrigenda, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when needed.

JERM is published Quarterly (February 28th, May 31st, August 31st, November 30th) a year.
JERM is an open access journal. A free full-text service both in the XML and PDF format is available immediately upon publication without embargo period.
Full text of JERM has been archived in National Library of Korea (http://www.nl.go.kr). Authors can archive publisher's version/PDF. JERM provides the electronic backup and preservation of access to the journal content in the event the journal is no longer published by archiving in National Library of Korea.
Revenue sources are from the support of the KSESM membership.
JERM does not accept any advertisements currently.
Journal propagation has been done through the journal web site and distribution of an introduction pamphlet. Advertised targets are mainly members of the KSESM and various researchers. Invitations to submit a manuscript are usually focused on the presenters at conferences, seminars, or workshops if the topic is related to the journal's aims and scope.
