 About the Journal

Journal of Educational Research in Mathematics (JERM) is an international, peer-reviewed journal publishing high-quality, original research. Please see the journal's Aims and Scope for information about its focus. JERM has a fully web-enabled review system with straightforward log-in and submission procedures.

 Submission and Peer Review

Manuscripts can only be submitted online at

https://www.jerm.or.kr . If you encounter any difficulties while submitting your manuscript online, please get in touch with the information. It is the submitting author’s responsibility to indicate the corresponding author in the online system, especially when the first author is not the corresponding author.

JERM follows a double-blind reviewing procedure. When manuscripts are first submitted, authors must avoid self-identifying citations and references in the manuscript, just like the example from the JERM template. Authors are responsible for reinserting their names, affiliations, and self-identifying citations and references when manuscripts are prepared for final submission.

Once your paper has been assessed for suitability by the editor, it will then be double blind peer reviewed by independent, anonymous expert reviewers via the JERM website, https://www.jerm.or.kr/. The editor-in-chief can ask authors to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers' comments. For those submitted manuscripts that do not follow the submission guidelines, the editorial board can decide to reject the manuscript to be reviewed in the journal.

 Ethical Guidelines and Originality

All manuscripts should comply with the ethical guidelines of the Korean Society of Educational Studies in Mathematics, which are aligned with the APA’s ethical principles of psychologists and code of conduct

Submission of an article implies that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere and is not currently under consideration for publication by another journal. Dual submission and publication are strictly prohibited in this journal.

 Copyright

A copyright transfer form will be sent to the author. All authors must sign the ‘Transfer of Copyright’ agreement before the article can be published. This transfer agreement enables the Korean Society of Educational Studies in Mathematics to protect the copyrighted material for the authors.

 Manuscript Preparation

 Style

All submitted English manuscripts using the MS Word files (e.g., doc, docx) shall format their manuscripts as follows: Single space in the main text, Top margin of 45, Bottom margin of 40, Left & Right margins of 35; Font sizes for Main title 14p, Section title 12p, Paragraph title 10p, Main text 10p; Character scale 100; Printing Font set to ‘Times New Roman.’ There is no page limitation for submission.

 Title

Keep the title of the manuscript brief and clear, using around 10 to 12 words that summarize the main idea or ideas of the study.

 Abstract

A concise and factual abstract using complete sentences is required with no more than 250 words. The abstract must include the purpose of the study, research participants and data, major findings, and implications.

 Keywords

Immediately after the abstract, authors should provide around 3 to 5 keywords highlighting the research.

 Figures

All graphs, charts, maps, drawings, and photographs should be incorporated into the body of text in appropriate locations rather than added at the end of the manuscript. As shown in the following example, capitalize only the first letter of the first word of the title of the figure and italicize the title with the figure number. Figures should be high quality (1200 dpi for line art, 600 dpi for grayscale, and 300 dpi for color, at the correct size). Figures should be provided in the following file formats: EPS, PDF, PS, JPEG, TIFF, or Microsoft Word (DOC or DOCX).

All tables should be incorporated into the body of the text in appropriate locations rather than added at the end of the manuscript. As shown in the following example, the title should be italicized and capitalized only in the first letter of the first word of the title with the table number. Tables should present new information rather than duplicating what is in the text. Readers should be able to interpret the table without reference to the text. Please supply editable files.

 Equations

If you are submitting your manuscript as a Word document, please ensure that equations are editable.

 References

All submitted manuscripts should format the references using the APA (American Psychology Association) 7th edition.
